Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Adalyn Mathis and Grace Manor Lead Pace to Victory

Pace posted their closest victory since January 25, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Jay Royals out 53-50. The win was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Royals are ranked 51st).

Leading Pace to victory were Grace Manor and Adalyn Mathis. Manor went 5 for 12 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds, while Mathis posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. The match was Manor's third in a row with at least ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Pace and bumps their season record up to 9-9. As for Jay, they moved to 13-2 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Pace will take on Walton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pace is facing Walton at the right time seeing as Walton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jay, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-40 win against Chipley on the 14th.
