League recap: Free throws longest pass in league this season for Sharon-Mutual

C District 1 (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

Cooper Free and Dustin Baker provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Timberlake. The connection was good for 79 yards, the longest such play in C District 1 (8 Man) this season.

Forgan extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tyrone, 46-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Sharon-Mutual's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Free threw for 263 and four touchdowns and Cody Campbell had 129 yards receiving. On the ground Free chipped in 100 yards. Baker helped Sharon-Mutual's passing attack out by catching four balls for 93 yards.

Free made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Trojans bested the Tigers. The 5-foot-11 junior pulled down two interceptions.

Sharon-Mutual's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Free has thrown for 604 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Campbell has 18 catches for 333 yards. Free also leads the league in rushing with 355 yards.

A big matchup in C District 1 (8 Man) this week will be when Buffalo takes on Balko. The Bison are currently in third, while the Bison are in fourth.

Sharon-Mutual was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Chris Syms's team beat Timberlake 56-6 earlier in the week.
