Volleyball Recap: Springtown's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of seven wins, Springtown's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Boyd Yellowjackets by a score of 2-1. The Porcupines were not able to make up for their loss to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Libby Tedder paced Springtown's offense, picking up 12 kills. Tedder got some help from Bailey Walker and her 13 assists. Finally, Reagan Beall kept Springtown's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Boyd was led to victory by Bryleigh Wallace and Payton Sowell. Wallace had 28 digs and one assist, while Sowell had six digs and two aces. Wallace is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season. Landrie Wheeler also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Springtown's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Boyd, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Springtown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Randall on the 23rd. As for Boyd, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Grandview on the 23rd.
