Basketball Recap: Bull City Prep National Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Lab University Prep National

On Tuesday, Bull City Prep National faced Lab University Prep National in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Bull City Prep National Bulls were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to the Lab University Prep National Kings. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-61 back in December of 2024.

Lab University Prep National's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Claggett, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 22 points. The matchup was Claggett's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Jordan Hunter was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards.

Bull City Prep National now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Lab University Prep National, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Bull City Prep National will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Combine Academy National at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Lab University Prep National has already played their next contest (against Franklin Prep Academy National), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
