Softball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Beats Great Oak for Their Third Straight Victory

Murrieta Mesa barely beat Great Oak the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Wolfpack on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Lilly Hauser made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hauser was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Taelyn Holley was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Kenzie Farrier was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Murrieta Mesa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 14-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory (which was Murrieta Mesa's third in a row) raised their record to 17-7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Great Oak, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10-1.

As of now, neither Murrieta Mesa nor the Wolfpack have any future games scheduled.
