Baseball Game Preview: Boiling Springs Bubblers vs. West Perry Mustangs

The Boiling Springs Bubblers will square off against the West Perry Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Boiling Springs is returning to their home field after beating Kennard-Dale on theirs, despite the fact Kennard-Dale has dominated at home this season. The Bubblers were the clear victors by a 15-8 margin over the Rams on Monday. The Bubblers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 7-0).

Phoenix Houser looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Boiling Springs got a massive performance out of Landon McMahon, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI McMahon has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Torin Williamson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.

Boiling Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennard-Dale only posted a batting average of .310.

Meanwhile, West Perry owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northern Lebanon, sneaking past 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Boiling Springs is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for West Perry, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Boiling Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over West Perry when the teams last played back in April, winning 4-0. Will the Bubblers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
