Soccer Game Preview: Plainfield South vs. Yorkville

The Plainfield South Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Yorkville Foxes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Plainfield South took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Romeoville.

Rachel Brayton and Maya Phommachanhom scored all three of Plainfield South's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Yorkville hadn't done well against Oswego East recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Foxes came out on top against Wolves by a score of 3-1. The win was some much needed relief for Yorkville as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Plainfield South has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9-1 record this season. As for Yorkville, their record is now 5-9-1.

Plainfield South beat Yorkville by a goal in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
