Volleyball Recap: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Borden Braves
Orleans lost against Borden back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Orleans Bulldogs fell just short of the Borden Braves by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Orleans took Borden into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 25-15, 17-15.
Borden's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Miller, who had 18 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Thomas, who had 11 digs and 19 assists.
Orleans' loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Borden, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.
Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Orleans and Shoals will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Borden, they will square off against Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
