Football Recap: West Stanly Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

West Stanly unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 27-0 loss at the hands of the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Maverick Scott threw for 76 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Javier Padilla was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Mason Jackson rushed for 59 yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Stanly will host North Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Stanly, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
