Basketball Game Preview: Sumter County Panthers vs. Carver Tigers

Sumter County has won four straight games at home, while Carver has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Sumter County Panthers challenge the Carver Tigers at 6:00 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jesstynie Scott and Kayden Cooper.

Sumter County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hardaway just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 64-41 to the Hawks. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carver). They blew past Jordan 77-17 on Tuesday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 30 points or more this season.

Carver is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Sumter County, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.
