Recap: Craigmont Chiefs vs. Munford Cougars
This season hasn't been kind to the Craigmont Chiefs, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They took a 79-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Munford. While losing is never fun, Craigmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Munford is ranked 61st).
Craigmont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tashun Lewis, who scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Taylor, who scored 17 points.
Craigmont bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Munford, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Craigmont will take on Brighton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Munford, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Millington Central at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Millington Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
