Softball Recap: Belle Plaine Comes Up Short

Belle Plaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sigourney Savages, falling 22-1. That's two games in a row now that the Plainsmen have lost by exactly 21 runs.

Belle Plaine's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sigourney, the win (which was their ninth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Belle Plaine has already played their next match, a 10-1 defeat against Woodward-Granger on the 31st. As for Sigourney, they will welcome Iowa Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
