Galena had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Aurora Christian Eagles 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Zoe Blaum was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 26 digs and four assists. Those 26 digs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Ehrler, who had 11 digs and one block.

Galena's victory bumped their record up to 31-6. As for Aurora Christian, with the loss, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 28-5.

Looking ahead, Galena will take on Stockton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aurora Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
