Cross County entered their tilt with Humphrey-Lindsay on Friday with 11 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 12. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-44 W against the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cross County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eden Peterson, who posted 16 points. Peterson has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. Ella Clark was another key player, shooting 63% from the field to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Humphrey-Lindsay still got an impressive performance from Claire Korth, who went 9-for-22 en route to 24 points along with seven boards and four steals. That was a full 54.5% of Humphrey-Lindsay's points, marking the fifth time in a row Korth has earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Hallie Reichmuth, who had four points and five rebounds.

Cross County pushed their record up to 24-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points on average over those games. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-7.

Looking ahead, Cross County will challenge Elkhorn Valley at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday. Elkhorn Valley will roll in looking for their 27th straight victory, something Cross County surely won't give up without a fight. Humphrey-Lindsay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
