Basketball Recap: Del Rio Comes Up Short

Del Rio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Medina Valley Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-31 back in January.

Leading Medina Valley to victory were Tori Ruffin and Kyla Carter. Ruffin almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds, while Carter went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Carter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janasia Lee, who posted five points.

Del Rio's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Medina Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-15 record this season.

Del Rio will face off against Eagle Pass at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Medina Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
