Daphne is ranked highly in their home state and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Silverdale Academy. The Daphne Trojans won by a run and slipped past the Silverdale Academy Seahawks 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Abby Newsom, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Gregg, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Daphne hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in six consecutive matches.

Daphne's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Silverdale Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-1.

Daphne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Saint James on the 19th. As for Silverdale Academy, they will challenge Grace Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Grace Baptist Academy's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
