Wells is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Mineral County, who was ranked third at the time (Wells was ranked eighth). The Leopards took a blow against the Serpents on Thursday, falling 44-6. Having soared to a lofty 52 points in the game before, the Leopards couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Coleville played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Pyramid Lake, falling 44-20. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.

Coleville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Wells, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
