Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Melbourne Bearkatz, falling 18-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Kyson Owens was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Melbourne, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mountain View is set to square off against their familiar foe Yellville-Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Melbourne will face off against rival Valley Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
