Recap: Jamestown Eagles vs. Gloucester Dukes

The Jamestown Eagles put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gloucester 75-17 at home. Fans of Jamestown have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jamestown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raini Mayo, who scored 24 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mayo has scored at least 25% of Jamestown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Leach, who scored 19 points.

Jamestown's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Gloucester, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jamestown won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Warhill at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Warhill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Jamestown is ranked 14th). Gloucester won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Menchville at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Menchville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 340 points over their last four matches.
