Basketball Recap: Sunbright Comes Up Short

Sunbright has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jellico Blue Devils. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 60-55.

Jellico found their leader in sophomore Caleb Rose, who went 9-for-16 to rack up 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rose has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trey Vann, who went 7-for-17 en route to 14 points and four steals.

Sunbright's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Jellico, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14.

Sunbright does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jellico, they will take on Oliver Springs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jellico is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.2 points per game this season.
