Riverdale has gone 9-1 against Morrison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Morrison took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverdale, who comes in off a win.
Riverdale was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Sterling. The win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Landen Peterson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Peterson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Huffman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. AJ Scranton also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, Morrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Warren, falling 14-4.
Morrison saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Renkes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Morrison's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Riverdale, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Riverdale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Morrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Riverdale's way against Morrison in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Riverdale made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
