Volleyball Recap: Trinity Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clay-Battelle last Thursday, Trinity Christian came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Frontier Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

Trinity Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Marlo Flecker paced Trinity Christian's offense, picking up ten kills. Flecker got some help from Addyson Dunn and her 17 assists. Lainey Jackson controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Leading Frontier to victory were Bethanie Thompson and Willow Smitley. Thompson had 16 digs, five kills, and five aces, while Smitley had 11 digs and two blocks. That's the most aces Thompson has posted since back in September.

Trinity Christian's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11. As for Frontier, with the victory, they broke their six-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-13.

Trinity Christian has already played their next match (against Tygarts Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Frontier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Valley on the 8th.
