Football Recap: New Heights Christian Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Heights Christian Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the Greenfield Wildcats on Friday, falling 92-72. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row.

Greenfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Morrison, who rushed for 69 yards and four scores on only seven carries, and also threw for 41 yards and one touchdown. Morrison has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-6 otherwise. Greenfield also got a significant boost from Hudson McGuire, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 154 yards.

New Heights Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Greenfield, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

New Heights Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenfield, they will face off against Lockwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
