Baseball Recap: Penobscot Valley Takes a Loss

Penobscot Valley lost against Bangor Christian back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Howlers fell 15-11 to the Patriots.

Chase Osgood made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Penobscot Valley: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Nolan Bernard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Penobscot Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Bangor Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Penobscot Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Woodland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Bangor Christian will take on rival Machias at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 2.1, the Bulldogs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
