Soccer Recap: Lopez Comes Up Short

Lopez lost to Harlingen South back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lobos lost 3-0 to the Hawks. While losing is never fun, Lopez can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Harlingen South are ranked 198th).

Lopez has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8-1 record this season. As for Harlingen South, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lopez is set to take on their familiar foe Edcouch-Elsa at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Harlingen South will square off against rival Donna at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
