Football Recap: Lenawee Christian Cougars vs. Mendon Hornets
After flying high against Concord last Friday, Lenawee Christian came back down to earth. The Lenawee Christian Cougars were beaten by the Mendon Hornets 87-30 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Hornets are ranked fifth).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mendon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Gorham, who rushed for 325 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 325 rushing yards gave Gorham a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was James T Lux, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.
Lenawee Christian now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Mendon, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
