Baseball Recap: San Luis Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

San Luis barely beat Gila Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sidewinders put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 15-7 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sidewinders considering their two-run performance the match before.

Cesar Chavira was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jesus Buzani, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

San Luis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win was the third in a row for San Luis, bringing their record up to 13-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gila Ridge, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

San Luis will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
