Basketball Recap: Marcellus Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Marcellus was the 58-33 winner over Cassopolis when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took a blow against the Rangers on Tuesday, falling 61-30. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

Marcellus' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matt Jansen, who posted 13 points and eight boards, and Jamarion Robinson, who put up eight points.

Lucas Williams was a one-man wrecking crew For Cassopolis. as he shot 40% from the field to rack up 17 points and seven steals. That's the most steals Williams has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tre Peterson Evans, who earned seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Marcellus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cassopolis, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marcellus will face off against Bangor at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cassopolis, they will take on Bloomingdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
