Basketball Recap: Isaac Mccune and Isaiah Rainalter Secure Win for Wheat Ridge

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Wheat Ridge's strategy against D'Evelyn on Tuesday. The Wheat Ridge Farmers walked away with a 71-58 win over the D'Evelyn Jaguars. This was payback for the Farmers, who suffered a 49-39 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Wheat Ridge to victory were Isaiah Rainalter and Isaac Mccune. Rainalter went 9-for-18 en route to 27 points and eight rebounds, while Mccune went 7-for-11 on his way to 22 points and five steals. Rainalter's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Mon Bobbs, who posted nine points.

When it comes to explaining why D'Evelyn lost, don't look at Clinton Kessey. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Ben Goman was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Wheat Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. D'Evelyn is on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-20.

Wheat Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-59 defeat against Dakota Ridge on the 13th. As for D'Evelyn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-19 loss against Standley Lake on the 13th.
