Basketball Recap: Fenwick Comes Up Short

Fenwick lost against Providence Catholic back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Fenwick Friars fell 59-50 to the Providence Catholic Celtics.

Despite the loss, Fenwick still got an impressive performance from Avani Williams, who went 11 for 13 on her way to 23 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darryelle Smith, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Fenwick's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Providence Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Fenwick will square off against Mother McAuley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Providence Catholic, they will face off against Bishop McNamara at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
