Football Recap: Hutto's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Hutto extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 4-1. They enjoyed a cozy 34-18 win over the Round Rock Westwood Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hippos also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Hutto's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keilan Chavies led the charge by picking up 78 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 53 yards and one touchdown. Kaden Stefek was another key passer, throwing for 161 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Hutto didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hunter Frenette and Carlos Sorto. Frenette also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15. Hutto got some further help from Brayden Daniel: he forced one fumble and made 14 total tackles.

As for Round Rock Westwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Round Rock Westwood lost, don't look at Wade Allen. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and one score. Allen's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 120 rushing yards.

Coincidentally, Hutto and Round Rock Westwood will both be playing Round Rock the next time they take the field. The Hippos will host the Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
