Baseball Recap: Oxford Hills Takes Down Hampden in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Oxford Hills rose to the challenge on Thursday. They skirted past the Hampden Broncos 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Oxford Hills' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gunner Truman, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Oxford Hills' win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Hampden, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Oxford Hills will challenge Mt. Ararat on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3, the Eagles 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Hampden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
