Soccer Game Preview: Cape Fear vs. Western Alamance

The Cape Fear Colts will square off against the Western Alamance Warriors on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Cape Fear is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over Durham School of the Arts. The victory was nothing new for Cape Fear as they're now sitting on six straight.

They hit Durham School of the Arts with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Addison Gunter (2), Shea Bieniek, Kayla Brown, and Andi Brinker.

Meanwhile, Western Alamance put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Richlands a 5-0 shutout. Western Alamance's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Western Alamance's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-0-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 75 goals over those ten games. As for Cape Fear, their win bumped their record up to 19-4-3.

Cape Fear came up short against Western Alamance in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
