Softball Recap: Appomattox County Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

Appomattox County came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Gretna Hawks a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Chloe Vaughan tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaysen Kesler was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Bailey Hamilton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
