Football Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gateway extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were beaten by the Sand Creek Scorpions 48-6. While losing is never fun, the Olympians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Scorpions are ranked 50th).

As for Sand Creek, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 52.3 points this season.

Ethan Mangrum was his usual excellent self, rushing for 276 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Those 276 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Gateway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 45-8 victory against Thornton on the 23rd. As for Sand Creek, they have also already played their next matchup, a 60-38 win against Centaurus on the 24th.
