Basketball Game Preview: Summers County Bobcats vs. Summit Christian Academy Falcons

The Summers County Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Summit Christian Academy Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summers County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Summit Christian Academy will come in with three straight victories.

Summers County saw some tournament action on Friday. Their2024 ended with a 72-53 defeat against Wayne.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Christian Academy). They blew past Trinity Christian 85-37 on Tuesday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Warriors are ranked 765th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Summers County better keep an eye on MJ Patton. He was instrumental in Summit Christian Academy's win, going 12 for 15 on his way to 32 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Carpenter, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 17 points.

Summit Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Summers County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
