Volleyball Recap: North Henderson Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hendersonville last Thursday, North Henderson came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Pisgah Bears by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

North Henderson actually scored more points across those five sets (109-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 18-25, 28-26, 15-12.

Wantong Phoeun paced North Henderson's offense, picking up 21 kills. Phoeun got some help from Jaden Cordoba and his 32 assists. Phoeun was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

North Henderson's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Pisgah, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. North Henderson will square off against rival T.C. Roberson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pisgah is set to challenge their familiar foe Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
