While Clinton Prairie's win against Eastern wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gophers had just enough and edged out the Comets 3-2 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Gophers in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won three in a row.

Sadie Weliver made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Weliver was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Clinton Prairie's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Eastern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Clinton Prairie will face off against Traders Point Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Eastern, they will take on Tri-Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.44 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
