Basketball Recap: Mount Pleasant Comes Up Short

If Mount Pleasant was feeling good fresh off their 53-23 takedown of Gray Stone Day last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mount Pleasant Tigers were beaten by the Union Academy Cardinals 57-18 on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Mount Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Union Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Mount Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Academy, they will square off against Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Albemarle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Union Academy likes a good challenge.
