Franklin Community is 2-8 against Columbus East since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Grizzly Cubs will head out to challenge the Olympians at 5:30 p.m. Columbus East took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Franklin Community, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Franklin Community was able to grind out a solid win over Whiteland, taking the game 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzly Cubs.

Greyson Betts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. Franklin Community is undefeated when Betts allows three or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
At the plate, Landen Basey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Owen Bullington was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Franklin Community hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whiteland struck out 13 times.
Meanwhile, while it was Columbus East who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Silver Creek who put up more. The Olympians fell 5-1 to the Dragons. The Olympians have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Columbus East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J.D. Rotert, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Columbus East's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Franklin Community, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Franklin Community skirted past Columbus East 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzly Cubs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
