Basketball Recap: Centerville Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Centerville Elks were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the Covington Catholic Colonels. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 100th in Ohio, while the Colonels are ranked fourth in Kentucky).

This is the second loss in a row for Centerville and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Covington Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Centerville will square off against Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Campbell County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
