Baseball Recap: West Continues Road Dominance on Friday

West never let their opponents score on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Palos Verdes Sea Kings 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Sea Kings: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Reef Sharman's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joey Campbell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was Campbell's first of the season. Another was Joey Kim, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

West's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Palos Verdes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, West will be playing in front of their home fans against Redondo Union at 3:15 p.m. on March 14th. As for Palos Verdes, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against Los Alamitos on the 8th.
