Preview: Brenham Cubs vs. College Station Cougars
The Brenham Cubs will head out on the road to face off against the College Station Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Brenham had to settle for a 10-9 loss against Magnolia West.
Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, College Station gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Rudder 24-0. The win was nothing new for College Station as they're now sitting on five straight.
Gracie Ream made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Ream has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive pitching appearances. Ream was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.
In other batting news, Bryce Clendenin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Chloe Ream was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5.
Brenham's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-10. As for College Station, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
