Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Caidyn Sanders and Mckenzie Percoski Lead Houston to Victory

Houston had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Arlington Tigers by a score of 63-52. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Houston to victory were Mckenzie Percoski and Caidyn Sanders. Percoski dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Sanders posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Percoski is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Laila Mcnamee, who had five points and seven rebounds.

Houston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Houston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Houston will be taking part in a tournament against Trezevant at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th. Arlington and Memphis Home Education Association will compete for holiday cheer at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
