Basketball Game Preview: Willis Wildkats vs. New Caney Eagles

Willis is 2-8 against New Caney since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Willis is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-31 heartbreaker at the hands of College Park.

Meanwhile, New Caney played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against College Park, falling 45-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now lost five in a row.

New Caney's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Willis, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Willis ended up a good deal behind New Caney when the teams last played back in January, losing 51-37. Can Willis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
