Softball Game Preview: Logan Longhorns vs. Raton Tigers

Logan hasn't had much luck against Raton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Longhorns will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Logan has given up an average of 19.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Logan is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 16-1 to McCurdy. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Raton waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by 15 runs or more this season.

Raton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.4 runs over those games. As for Logan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Logan suffered a grim 31-5 defeat to Raton when the teams last played back in April of 2016. Can the Longhorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
