Basketball Game Preview: Onaga Buffaloes vs. Frankfort Wildcats

Onaga is 0-10 against Frankfort since January of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Onaga Buffaloes will square off against the Frankfort Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Onaga is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-32 heartbreaker at the hands of Washington County.

Despite the defeat, Onaga had strong showings from Abbie Ringel, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points along with six boards and three steals, and Delaney Figge, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Figge a new career-high in boards.

Meanwhile, Frankfort managed to keep up with Blue Valley until halftime last Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Frankfort lost 54-30 to Blue Valley. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Onaga, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-7.

Onaga ended up a good deal behind Frankfort in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 52-35. Can Onaga avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
