Basketball Game Preview: Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs vs. Cherokee Chiefs

The Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs will challenge the Cherokee Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-34 to Dover. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Cherokee was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 44-43 to Medford. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Cardinals are ranked 114th).

Cherokee dropped their record down to 10-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
