Baseball Recap: Cheyenne Wells Wins Going Away Against Manzanola

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holly, Cheyenne Wells was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Manzanola Bobcats as they made off with a 14-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the game before.

Marcus Bogenhagen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Cheyenne Wells got a massive performance out of Trevin Smith, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Framel, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Cheyenne Wells kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cheyenne Wells now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Manzanola, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Coming up, Cheyenne Wells will host Elbert at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Manzanola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
