Basketball Recap: Starmount Takes a Loss

Starmount was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Elkin Buckin' Elks 76-34. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buckin' Elks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Starmount still got an impressive performance from Sean Gregory, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Armstrong, who put up four points and 12 rebounds.

Starmount's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Elkin, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

When Starmount and Elkin next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Starmount will try to stop South Stokes' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Starmount is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Elkin will try to stop Surry Central's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
